In contrast to game environments in which players compete against computer controlled opponents, Player vs player, or PvP is the type of multiplayer interaction within a game between two or more live participants sitting behind their screen, drinking heavily sugared beverages until their tummy aches and/or bloats dangerously.

[edit] Types of PvP

• Agreements between players to meet on a particular tile to duel.
• Less consensual, players attacking other players in an ambush. See PKing
• Players essentially hunting and killing only Pkers.
• Guilds specializing in PvP combat.
• Guilds whose policy allow inter-guild pks as a form of tutelage. See Open Kill Policy
• Guilds deciding that it is time to lock their manuals on diplomacy and etiquette behind seven doors and smuggle the keys into the feeding trays of the local goose farm. (Retribution kills)
• Corpse Campers who, after their victim's demise, wait on the tile to kill them once again. See Corpse Camping
• Looting, when in presence of a fresh corpse, you can use your Grave Robbery skills to squeeze a few coins from the corpse, if the corpse is more than three days old, you can use both Shakedown and Advanced Shakedown to loot a random item from the dead. Note that those skills only work on corpses that have not been zombified. See: Zombify

[edit] Player versus Player interactions in Scroll Wars

Scroll Wars includes PvP along with the more conventional PvE (Player versus Environment). If you prefer your adversary to defend or counter your attacks in ways that are strategically more refined than what you can expect from the standard NPC, PvP might be a very viable alternative for you. You can apply to several guilds specialized in such interactions but the common state of the game shows us that only a minority of players refrain from PvP altogether and focus exclusively on PvE.
