Suggestions:Suggestions
From Scroll Wars Wiki
| Community Announcements |
|
The rules to the suggestions page have changed, please become familiar with them. If you have any questions please direct them to the talk page. |
If you want to suggest an item variation, please do so here, rather than on the regular Suggestion page. An item variation is classified as a new in-game item (clothing, weapon, food, etc.) that is highly similar to current items.
From the Scroll Wars FAQ
- Q. Can I send you some ideas?
- A. Most definitely. We greatly value the input of our players. Without them, there is no game! That said, the final descision on what is or is not added to the game belongs solely to the creators. Suggestions that have a lot of support or make a lot of sense will most definitely carry weight with us. We realize that the players are the most important part of any MMORPG, and our ears are open. Don't expect immediate implimentation of your "Make a keyblade and super sayjin class" suggestion, but "Here's how you can make the game more fair, balanced, or immersive..." will be viewed by the Scroll Wars staff with much attention. -- Mo Mo(d) on pot 15:38, 4 July 2006 (PDT)
The General is watching.
This page is for suggestions for new content to add to Scroll Wars in the future. You are free to make whatever Suggestions you desire, but you must follow the Suggestions Guidelines when you Suggest them.
Once suggestions reach the end of their voting period they are moved to one of the following peer reviewed pages:
- For suggestions with a total of 2/3 or more Keep votes after 2 weeks of voting.
- For suggestions with less than 2/3, but greater than or equal to 50% of Keep votes after 2 weeks of voting.
- For all other suggestions after 2 weeks of voting, or those that comply to the 2/3 Spam votes rule.
- For amusing suggestions that are fun to read. Place all new Humorous Suggestions here.

[edit] Making a Suggestion
- Look for your suggestion in the following pages to avoid a duplicate suggestion (Use the Ctrl + F function to search for keywords):
- New and sensitive users should be aware that voters will not always treat their ideas kindly. It may be helpful to wait a few days to get a feel for the place and the other users before subjecting your idea to any possible criticism. If you're unsure, the Discussion page is good neutral territory to suggest, gather feedback, and refine your idea before officially submitting it.
- All Suggestions must use the Suggestions Template as shown below. Suggestions that do not use this template may be deleted without warning by any user.
- Before submitting your suggestion, read what kind of suggestions have already been approved, and which rejected. This will allow you to get a feel of how your suggestion will go.
- Don't add options to your suggestion, this is considered bad practice as many users consider a suggestion incomplete.
- Once you have posted your suggestion, it is considered complete. Altering the suggestion mechanics after voting has begun nullifies existing votes, and is considered an abuse of the suggestions page. Doing so will result in your suggestion to be moved to the discussion page, where you can work out the details and resubmit later if you desire. It is preferred that you remove your own suggestion and resubmit a new version with changes, if changes are needed.
- Notes added for clarification purposes, and correcting spelling/typos are permitted. When considering adding a clarification note, it is often better for all parties involved, for the author to remove the suggestion and resubmit it with the clarification included for the voters who have already placed their votes.
- Each author should not make more than two suggestions per day. Suggestions must be removed prior to revisions being posted. Frequent removal of suggestions to avoid having them spaminated is considered abuse of the system and may be treated as vandalism.
- Suggestions created entirely for the purpose of satire, insult, or comedy and which can not be implemented due to technical reasons, balance issues or they are completely out of flavour are considered vandalism and treated appropriately by moderators. In the first instance of making a humorous suggestion the user will be noted the rule not to, if they continue to do so then they will be dealt with accordingly. If you want to post a joke suggestion put it on the Humorous Suggestions page.
[edit] Peer Reviewed Suggestions
Peer Reviewed Suggestions are not guaranteed to be implemented into the game. Suggestions that are Peer Reviewed are simply suggestions considered good and worthy by the wiki population, and being moved to that page places no onus on Mo to implement them.
[edit] Suggestion Template
STOP!!! -- Make sure you have read the Todo list,Peer Reviewed Suggestions, Peer Rejected Suggestions, and Undecided Suggestions before making a suggestion! It may seem arduous to read the whole page, but doing so will help ensure your idea doesn't get removed, discredited, or pure kill-voted. A good suggestion makes a happy public. This will also enable you to avoid the Spam votes and abusive comments you will inevitably receive for a duplicate suggestion.
To create a new suggestion copy the following template and replace the red text
===Suggestion Name===
{{suggestionLink|
suggestion_name=Suggestion Name|
suggestion_date={{Subst:CURRENTDAY}}-{{Subst:CURRENTMONTHABBREV}}-{{Subst:CURRENTYEAR}}|
suggestion_type=Skill, balance change, improvement, etc.|
suggestion_description=Brief summary, check spelling and be concise.
}}
Add your suggestion to this page at the bottom, follow the red link with your suggestions name, and use the following template in the new page. To use the template, enter the following, but replace the red text:
=Suggestion Name=
{{suggestionNew|
suggest_time=~~~~|
suggest_type=Skill, balance change, improvement, etc.|
suggest_scope=Who or what it applies to.|
suggest_description=Full description. Check spelling and be descriptive.|

[edit] Voting
- You are voting on Suggestions, not Users. The text of your vote should not personally attack or degrade the user who has submitted it... no matter how ridiculous the idea. Flaming and/or Trolling will not be tolerated and may be treated as vandalism if it occurs often.
- Before voting please read Peer Reviewed Suggestions, Peer Rejected Suggestions, and Undecided Suggestions to read about concepts that have been brought up in the past. You do not need to read all of the suggestion but they are worth consideration before casting a vote.
- One vote per user. No exceptions. You cannot use multiple wiki accounts to vote on a suggestion.
- To Vote, click the link to the suggestion you wish to vote for. Use the [edit] button next to the suggestions header. Then enter your vote in either the suggest_for_votes, suggest_against_votes or the suggest_other_votes field. Please ensure that your vote is placed before the double brackets of the particular suggestion (ie the "}}")
- Votes must include a signature in order to be considered valid votes. To sign a vote, use --~~~~. Please remember to sign your votes! Unsigned votes will be deleted when found.
- Each Suggestion will be open to voting for two (2) weeks, measured from the suggestion's Timestamp, unless it is a Dupe or Spaminated. If, at the end of that time, there are two thirds (2/3) more Keep votes than Kill votes, the Suggestion will be moved to the Peer Reviewed Suggestions page. If the suggestions has more then 50% keeps but no more then 2/3rd's of keeps then it will be moved to Undecided Suggestions. Otherwise, the Suggestion will be moved to the Peer Rejected Suggestions page.
[edit] Rules for Discussions
Votes are NOT the place to discuss Suggestions. If you wish to discuss any of the suggestions or votes here, please use the suggestion's Talk page. Suggestions do not have to be submitted in order to discuss them. The Suggestions talk page can be used to workshop possible suggestions before they are submitted.
[edit] Valid Votes
- Vote Keep, for Suggestions that you believe have merit.
- Vote Kill, for Suggestions that you believe do not have merit. If you need to discuss a rule fix, use the discussion page.
- Vote Spam, for Suggestions that cannot be implemented because it would ruin gameplay, makes no sense, or is overtly misinformed.
- Suggestions can be removed with Spam votes as described below in the Removing Suggestions section. If the criterion described there are not fulfilled, the suggestion must remain for the whole two weeks.
- Spam votes are simply here to prevent the utterly ridiculous from clogging up the system. If you do not like the idea, and it does not come under the Spam criteria, VOTE KILL, NOT SPAM.
- Vote Dupe, for Suggestions that are exact or very close duplicates of previous suggestions. For a Dupe vote to be valid, a link must be provided to the original suggestion. Three Dupe votes linked to the same suggestion may remove it from voting as described below.
[edit] Invalid Votes
- Server Load and Programming Complexity are NOT very good Kill reasons. You are voting on the merit of the suggestion and whether or not you think it belongs in the game. Server load/complexity issues are up to Mo to decide.
- X should be implemented first or X is better are not a valid reasons for a vote. You are voting on the merit of THIS suggestion, not how it compares to others.
- Votes that do not have relevant reasoning behind them are invalid. You MUST justify your vote.
[edit] Comments
- Re may be used to comment on a vote. Only the original author and the person being REd can comment. Comments are restricted to a single comment per vote, and it is expected that Re comments be as short as possible. Reing every kill vote is considered abuse of the Re comment. A Re does not count as a vote, and any subsequent discussion not part of the Re comment should be held on the discussion page if there is any extended commenting.
- Note is used by moderators to invalidate trolling-based votes. Only moderators may remove troll-based votes and they do so with a strikeout <s></s> in order to preserve the trolling removal for posterity. The voter may contest the strikeout with the moderator that struck their vote out on the discussion page. Only a moderator may remove a strikeout.
- Try to avoid YELLING, writing in bold, or using italics, except when emphasizing a point which has escaped other voters.

[edit] Removing Suggestions
Suggestions can be removed for two reasons:
- Dupe If a suggestion is a duplicate of an earlier one, and has received three Dupe votes linked to the same suggestion, then it can be removed as per the conditions stated below.
- Spam If a suggestion is deemed by the community to be either not made seriously, or simply completely awful and not worthy of inclusion on the Suggestion page for a two-week period, it can be Spaminated. The suggestion is sent to the Peer-Rejected page as per the conditions below.
Eligibility for Spamination is achieved if there are at least 7 Spam/Dupe votes and the number of Spam/Dupe votes are equal to 2/3rds or greater of the total number of votes, with the author vote included in all these tallies.
Authors are not allowed to use Re: to defend their work or correct the editor after a suggestion has been removed.
