Whats with all the demotions? The Devil 13:39, 2 December 2006 (PST)
- Removing excess power. Mad Mart has been inactive for ages. The others, I removed the checkuser status because it prevents them from giving away private information. Same principle with Morgana, she's been inactive for a while, and if someone hacked a bureaucrat account then they could do a lot of damage.--The GeneralPOT Mod 13:43, 2 December 2006 (PST)
- Wasn't enough days for Morgs' demotion. The others are just being bumped from Checkuser, Sysop to Sysop, and I'm not sure if they'd actually care. I've reversed the demotion on Morgana just because she wasn't absent for what I'd consider a long enough time. 60 days seems right. -- Mo Mo(d) on pot 15:39, 2 December 2006 (PST)
- Hmmm, ok. It was just that she disappeared, and a buraucrat can do a lot of damage. Meh, it's your wiki.--The GeneralPOT Mod 03:19, 3 December 2006 (PST)
- I didn't disappear, there just wasn't much left to do. I checked in nearly daily. If you have specific items you would like me to attend to simply post them on my talk page. And I find it very curious you keep talking about someone hacking my account considering YOU'RE the only one who has my IP, and you still never explained why you check user'D me. --★MorgsMod•B'cratHaVoC 19:58, 3 December 2006 (PST)
- I wouldn't need your ip to hack you, if I wanted to.--The GeneralPOT Mod 02:40, 4 December 2006 (PST)
- Actually The General is right. All someone has to do these days to get anothers password is get them to log onto their website (perhaps a forums?), and unless the person is careful enough to use different passwords for every account they have then its pretty easy. And he checkuser'd you to make sure you weren't somebody else's alt in discuise trying for a 'crat position. Everybody here has probably been checked at least once. The Devil 20:34, 3 December 2006 (PST)
- Gee, like his forums, which he insisted I join? Funny that. --★MorgsMod•B'cratHaVoC 20:59, 3 December 2006 (PST)
- Don't worry, the password is encrypted on the server. I can't view passwords, I can only change them.--The GeneralPOT Mod 02:40, 4 December 2006 (PST)
- I reinstated Mad Mart due to the fact that she was not yet inactive for 60 days either. I spoke to Mo before I did this and he approved. Considering that is Mo's rule it would probably be a good idea to heed it. A warning in the future may be nice as well.--★MorgsMod•B'cratHaVoC 12:10, 5 December 2006 (PST)

Excess power? Fair enough; I have no interest in policing IPs. But I would like to state that--whatever your motives--demoting a contributor without warning (or even notifying) the person is rude. Moderation is voluntary position, and has taken a backseat to my professional life lately as that is what helps pay my internet bills so that I -can- participate here. If you'd care to review my application for moderator, you'll see that my prime focus is on providing spelling and grammatical edits for contributed work. As most of the recently contributed work at the SW Wiki has been on personal and guild pages and -not- new gameplay and information, I respect that it isn't friendly or constructive of me to step on toes by nitpicking personal pages. In the future, if you have any concerns with my participation here I would appreciate the same courtesy from you. If you're going to demote me for providing the level of participation that I proposed, fine. But at least have the decency to tell me about it. Cheers. --MaRt ModHaVoC 20:58, 5 December 2006 (PST)
- Hey! I'm going to have to defend him at this point now. All he is doing is protecting the wiki. Its not like he caused any lasting harm because you got you mod position right back. To back myself up I will point over to the good ol' UD wiki. The General was removing check user privs, totally justified, 2 months ago the check user log on UD was leaked. And also, what if someone like say, me, or another vandal, got ahold of Morgana's wiki password, do you know how much damage could be done? If I got xoid's password thats exacly what I would do on UD. And its really not that hard to get someones password if they aren't careful, just recently someone hacked akkittia's account and took all his gold. These are all just safty precausions. Stale2000 T•W.o.O 21:19, 5 December 2006 (PST)
Yes, thank you, I understood that much from his post. But if you'd like actually to read mine, my bigger complaint is that he didn't tell me. If you'd like to clarify how that falls into the category of 'protecting the wiki', I'd appreciate it.--MaRt ModHaVoC 21:37, 5 December 2006 (PST)
- What is it that hard to check the recent changes every now and then? Its not like you cannot just ask to be repromoted again. Stale2000 T•W.o.O 21:40, 5 December 2006 (PST)
You're both missing the point entirely. It's not about the inconvenience. It's about courtesy. All I'm saying is, it's not hard to put a message in my discussion page that says, "We R protektink teh weeky!" But if you don't get it, you don't get it. And it would appear that I'm a minority in my considerate treatment of others, and that certainly makes me disappointed in this community. I'm sorry for you, and I'm leaving this discussion at that.--MaRt ModHaVoC 21:55, 5 December 2006 (PST)
- I didn't miss it, I just used a bad analogy. Eh, I always have a way with writen words, usually in a bad way. I guess what I wanted for my analogy was that it's like when someone borrows something and doesn't tell you that they did. Oh well, sorry for not communicating clearly enough. =\ - JedazΣT ΞD 22:09, 5 December 2006 (PST)
- I think MaRt's point is pretty clear. She never should have been demoted to begin with, and a notice would have been the mature way to handle it. End of story. All this other crap and people like Stale getting involved is really unnecessary. Her post was to General asking for clarification as was within her rights to do so. It was an unjust demotion that has been rectified, so moving on! --★MorgsMod•B'cratHaVoC 22:46, 5 December 2006 (PST)
- And on that note... I wonder what this is for?

- But she was only away for about 40 days, far from Mo's 60 day limit. Saber HaVoC 06:39, 6 December 2006 (PST)
- I was not notified of that, last time I check we were discussion a 30-60 day limit. Anyway, you can hardly say that she had much merit as a mod if she couldn't find time to edit for 2 months.--The GeneralPOT Mod 10:25, 6 December 2006 (PST)
- So she's a bad mod just because she has real-life to attend to and doesn't spend her life on the internet? Seems a bit hypocritical coming from someone who hardly spends any time in-game. Saber HaVoC 12:21, 6 December 2006 (PST)
- No, but following that arguement, we should never demote a moderator because they'd all be "busy". Even I spend more time in-game then she does on the wiki. Now, stop with the personal attacks, shall we?--The GeneralPOT Mod 13:13, 6 December 2006 (PST)
- Alright, guys, stop the bickering. I can certainly see both sides of this here. Both are reasonable arguments. So I'm going to end this with a NPOV judgement. General, please get some approval, or at least notification of your itent and reasons, before you do that sort of thing, that clears everything up. Everyone else, don't attack General, it was a mistake, but an honest mistake. If someone notices their mistake and explains the reason, then you shouldn't attack them, they weren't trying to do anything wrong. --♦ ĢΘζđ ЫǺđєFish Newest mod♦ 15:29, 7 December 2006 (PST)

[edit] Just wanted to know
Three things
1. How did your Misconduct case turn out? 2. Does everyone at UD still think I'm making alts? 3. What's happening? --♦ ĢΘζđ ЫǺđєFish Newest mod♦ 08:55, 3 December 2006 (PST)
- It went well for him but now people are trying to pass policies so that a Buearacrat can start a referendom against a mod so that people vote whether or not that mod get demoted. And you are out of the mix and forgotton now, if anything they think its me since I'm pretty much knee-deep involved. The Devil 10:03, 3 December 2006 (PST)
- Hehe, yeah, 3page didn't manage to make me banned. No, they don't think you're still making alts. Terminator 484 thinks I hacked his site, apart from that, i'm not sure.--The GeneralPOT Mod 12:16, 3 December 2006 (PST)
- Cool. Well, one day that policy will cause them to turn on each other. Now, who would win: Samus Aran or Master Chief?--♦ ĢΘζđ ЫǺđєFish Newest mod♦ 12:43, 3 December 2006 (PST)
- Well of course I didn't get you banned. Whats the fun in that, without accomplishing anything (its also counterproductive). Now I get to standby and watch something like that mod demotions policy pass. Now the wiki all goes to hell, if its not there already. The best circumstance for me right now is people to continue to think that you are guilty but to not be able to do a thing about it (so I did not give proof), thus they pass more and more riduculous policies to use on the battlefield. Ones that I will eventually be able to use against them. So actually I truly hope that your are NOT banned. lol. The Devil 15:03, 3 December 2006 (PST)
- Hey, if I stayed around then this policy would probably have been passed. It's not much different to this policy except that one actually gets a general census before de-modding and doesn't have any banning of any sort. - JedazΣT ΞD 16:08, 3 December 2006 (PST)

[edit] Xolah's signature
Hey, I saw your comment in recent changes. I suggest you go onto his talk page and ask him to change his signature if you don't want it to bold the timestamp rather than changing it without getting permission. All he has to do is change it from this
Xolah W.o.O•T•POT!
to this
Xolah W.o.O•T•POT!
the only reason the time stamp was bold was because it had an unballanced lot of three apostrophes. - JedazΣT ΞD 17:52, 7 December 2006 (PST)
- Ah, I see, thanks. And the reason i'm changing it is that i'm pretty sure that it wasn't meant to be bold.--The GeneralPOT Mod 05:39, 8 December 2006 (PST)

- Yeah, looks like it. I'm busy working on my own game, at the moment, will send you a link when i'm done.--The GeneralPOT Mod 15:05, 9 April 2007 (PDT)
- Nice, well I can't wait to see it. What is it about anyway? - JedazΣT ΞD 18:04, 9 April 2007 (PDT)
- It's a cross between Scrollwars and D&D, but with an undead theme. So it'll have more variety. It's currently in the very early stages of development. People can register, login, and perhaps be welcomed by name on the game page. No map, yet, and no attacking etc.--The GeneralPOT Mod 03:08, 10 April 2007 (PDT)
- Nice, well I can't wait to see how it turns out. Although, try and avoid enemy NPC's because even though they provide a source for resources (XP, Items ect) it feels fairly pointless when you kill them. It's much more interesting when you know it's another player and they could come back for revenge. Well thats my opinion anyway. Anyway if you want some help let me know because I can lend a helping hand if you want it, although it sounds like you should be able to do just fine on your own. - JedazΣT ΞD 06:41, 11 April 2007 (PDT)
- There probably won't be NPCs, too difficult to code realistically, to much load on the server, not much fun anyway. It's going to have a slightly different premise to urbandead in the manner of reviving etc. Try to get a proper "war" going. I'd like to do the base code myself, but i'll probably drop you a line, if you want to help, once I get to some of the "addons".--The GeneralPOT Mod 06:52, 11 April 2007 (PDT)

- Yeah, Mo obviously didn't bother enabling it.--The GeneralPOT Mod 15:06, 9 April 2007 (PDT)
- Dang, your making a game as well? Drop me a link when its close to functionable. A personal sugestion, if there is any good way of doing it, I would sugest your drop the whole action points because there are way to many of those play for 10 minutes and then wait for 24 or 12 hours to play again. If you could pull something like this off then (not like that demon game, it sucked because barely any pvp) your gae would be popular indeed. Stale2000 19:47, 13 April 2007 (PDT)
- Ok, I will. Hmm, i'm not sure quite how to do it. Unlimited AP would seriously unbalance PvP. You'd either only have to allow the attacking of active players, or make death extremely meaningless. I'll see if I can work out a way to balance it.--The GeneralPOT Mod 00:38, 14 April 2007 (PDT)
- Did everyone on the SW wiki decided to make a game? lol - JedazΣT ΞD 22:32, 14 April 2007 (PDT)

- The lack of updates, and they way he shrugged me off, though nicely, whenever I suggest that he let me do some coding for it.--The GeneralPOT Mod 05:54, 3 April 2007 (PDT)
- What makes you think that? - JedazΣT ΞD 05:52, 3 April 2007 (PDT)
- Ok, though I have a feeling that he seems to have given up on Scrollwars.--The GeneralPOT Mod 05:47, 3 April 2007 (PDT)
- Ok, good it's not just my imagination, well I'll inform him in that case. - JedazΣT ΞD 05:45, 3 April 2007 (PDT)
I found a place where you can make your own 2d mmo. Its alot better I think than doing these type of games. Here: http://www.touchofdeathproductions.com/ . Stale2000 T•W.o.O 13:03, 30 April 2007 (PDT)
I didn't shrug you off, I asked you to code something to show me you could code php. Which I guess turned into your current project. When Scroll Wars gets updated, it'll most likely be a huge change to the entire system. Needless to say, someone learning PHP on the fly is probably not the best person to work on an MORPG that's currently running with players. -- Mo Mo(d) on pot 13:18, 6 May 2007 (PDT)
- Heh, well if you still need a programer in about 6 weeks time (when I finish my mid-years) I'll be happy to help. Although IMO the game needs a massive re-design because it doesn't really have much replay value. Theres nothing really to satisfy people to come back (Attacking NPC's just isn't fun and finding people is too hard), I imagine this would be reflected in the logs of when people last logged on. I don't know if anyone else feels the same way as me, I imagine there probably are a few, but thats my opinion. - JedazΣT ΞD 01:42, 7 May 2007 (PDT)
- I may have misunderstood you, then. You seemed to wish me to, basically, code my own game before you let me work on scrollwars. I reasoned that, if I was going to code my own game from scratch anyway, I may as well run it as a public MMORPG. I can show you parts of the code, such as login and registration etc. but I can't show you a full game without writing one :P.--The GeneralPOT Mod 10:06, 27 May 2007 (PDT)
[edit] Half dozen vandal
Heh, I've been noticing that our new friend is striking on the UD wiki as well. 6 letters in their name, one edit which is always half wiping the page. It's very strange if you ask me. BTW I decided to call him the half dozen vandal because his name is half a dozen long and he only leaves half a page. =P - JedazΣT ΞD 18:12, 12 April 2007 (PDT)
- Yes, we're not sure if it's a bot, or a real person. Nice name, I think i'll nick it :P.--The GeneralPOT Mod 00:35, 14 April 2007 (PDT)
[edit] The General Lives?
You're still around? Hiya. --«♥» Draaj (Talk)ModPoT 17:03, 5 August 2008 (UTC)
- Yup, I'm sorta still here. I had got an email notification and I realised how long it'd been since I checked the wiki, so I'm back!--The GeneralPOT Mod 23:44, 5 August 2008 (UTC)
- I came back after a long absence as well. I planned on just stopping in and saying hi, but I'm hooked again. I tried to contact a few of the people I spoke with the most, but I didn't get any responses. There are a few of the oldies around, though. --«♥» Draaj (Talk)ModPoT 00:58, 6 August 2008 (UTC)
- Out of interest, who's still around apart from Me, You and Jedaz? Sorry about the really slow reply, my laptop hard drive died last week and I've been stuck with it for several days until I got it replaced this week (It's still going to cost me £240-£300 to get the data retrieved, though).--The GeneralPOT Mod 19:57, 14 August 2008 (UTC)
- Not too many people from way back when. Xolah, Charon, lippsyl, BIZERKER (though you probably know that), John the baker, Miss Grim was around before the game went offline for a bit, and I've been told LordTunnel is around, but I haven't seen him personally. I recently made contact with Morgana, but it seemed like she wasn't interested in coming back. --«♥» Draaj (Talk)ModPoT 02:12, 15 August 2008 (UTC)
