I wrote a short story about my character, if you'd care to listen.

She brushed past the lifeless arachnid forms, deeper and deeper into the gloom. It was cold in the catacombs and she pulled her cloak closer to her body as she pressed on ever deeper. The light from her lantern was growing ever weaker and it flickered erratically, casting unnerving shadows which danced and played along the musty walls, and then she heard a sound from ahead. She tensed up and gripped her axe tight, dousing the flame of her lantern and slipping into the shadows. The familiar scratching of 8 spindly legs on stone became audible as her quarry drew closer oblivious to any danger. Her pulse quickened and her brow began to sweat, even in the chill of the underground. She focused, waiting for her prey to draw close. The spider queen drew around the corner and she acted. She swung hard, her axe burying itself deep in the abomination's gut. Spidra reeled back, screeching in agony, caught totally by surprise. Mary wasted no time and leapt hacking furiously, cleaving through crunching exo-skelton and squelching sinew. Thick black ichor spattered over the walls covering the remnants of previous hunts. Spidra hadn't stood a chance, she fell heavily to the cold stone breathing raggedly . Seeing her end, she yielded, and Mary brought her axe down on her head, rending it in two. The battle was won, the loot was pillaged and now all that was left was the long journey up to the surface. It was a journey she took with a great smile on her face.
